it up here I'm going to show you how to simply record a file and play it back so here's the first pretty much step in the whole process you hit the new button or you can say file new and here the parameters generally the sampling rate won't be touched you should set it at 40 for 100 and this is the initial file length we'll leave it at 2 minutes for now because anything longer would be ridiculous and here's where you can have the number of channels so you can have mono or stereo I just do stereo because most of the work I do is used in that format presets here these are just CD quality digital audio tape quality DVD quality FM radio that sounds really weird don't use it unless you actually want it to sound like a telephone recording and vinyl LP work recorded a CD once I'd never used any of these for the most part you don't have to either if you're just doing voice work like I do so hit OK and there you get the stereo panel the project is not titled I don't know if you're a Mac user I'm a PC user so usually Mac makes you title things before you can open them that's not the way it is with this you can title it when you save it it'll give you an opportunity to do to presets click on that and there's an option down here called very light hiss and Rumble removal hit that hit okay and it should minimize that hum and Rumble so now we're recording and if you notice the levels there they're adequate they're not ideal it so there you get the basic idea on how to record to save it here's where you'll name it let's just go through that file save as and I'm gonna place it on my desktop now here it recorded it as a WAV file and if you don't know anything about recording WAV files are much bigger than mp3's you don't want to save it as a WAV file if you're sending it over the Internet and that's just be too much so what you can do is hit mp3 under save as type title it whatever you want I'm gonna leave that alone but you can put anything you want to in there and then hit save it saves the file and we should see untitled mp3 here on the desktop you double click on that so now we're recording and if you notice the land is raised back just miraculous I
