IT (pronounced "eye-tee") is a set of software tools for developing a corpus of annotated interlinear texts.

IT performs two main tasks: (1) it maintains the vertical alignment of the interlinear annotations, and (2) it stores all word and morpheme annotations in a lexical database thus enabling semi-automatic glossing.
IT supports up to 14 levels of aligning text annotations and up to 8 different freeform (nonaligning) annotations. The interlinear text file produced by IT is a plain ASCII text file that is accessible to other text-processing software.
