hello and welcome back to another video my exams are done and now it's time to get back to business and I thought well it's time to actually do a sort of ransomware protection video and what better test than a voodoo shield test against some zero-day malware specifically ransomware from today so we're going to obviously do this on the autopilot mode so that we don't have to do anything here all the instructions not that we need to read that as you can see it is running I'll put the little shield down here now in some of the malware we have 83 items I'm not going to spend all the time executing it in fact I'll probably just execute the first 20 there you go so everything else we can just get rid of because that well these are still pretty new as you can see sixteenth it's a seventeenth today but before we get started well I would just like to show you my poem which I wrote it's called ransomware is bad and I have quite a few copies here so ransomware is bad it makes me sad the poorly written grammar oh boy does it make me mad hopefully you've enjoyed that poem and then obviously we can check if anything's actually been encrypted with this but let's go ahead and execute everything in this format we're going to execute all of these items here and you'll see is flashing that is because it's to tell you something so here we are we want to click on the pop-up basically what we're going to do for each action is the recommended so as you can see the recommended its quarantine is to take it as unsafe with voodoo AI with 20 units there you go it's disappeared from the form that 19 items now this one here blocking on them an unknown file again quarantine that I should have an internet connection so it should be scanning with - total but I haven't actually seen any virus total related pop-up see outside on what's going on but quantum down as well now let's let's move on pretty certain is going to pick up basically all of these I mean voodoo AI has definitely improved along see if it's using virus total which it doesn't appear to be at moment but it normally does then that well it does pick up most most thing and we are just doing all the recommended actions nothing has been let through so far of course really still miss P takes a snapshot it is a white listing application and it is possibly the greatest way to protect your system from ransomware the only problem with Vudu shield is well obviously it's going to block normal programs until you have the snapshot sorted out completely so you will have to regularly sort of update the snapshots I suppose and actually as this one been let through it's a very good question is it running okay doesn't appear to be running but then provide me with a pop-up interesting nearly interesting okay well let's move on to the next one but basically in comparison to a standard AV let's say without a behavior blocker if you have this on then it does add a second layer of protection because you effect if we have to allow every executable to actually run you have to allow some come on lines which are seen as suspicious to run but yeah I mean it is doing a good job so far and well although it isn't appearing you connect two lines total at the moment that's probably due to my VPN or something well it should be doing just fine with voodoo AI it is a bit slow to respond on some of these as you can see my cursors moving around Berner then go so far no problems whatsoever not sure if I executed this top one just make sure and well there are two modes as well what ten of these three modes but I mean well for those of you count the disabled one but I mean autopilot is what most people probably should use I personally use white listing modes always on and then I disable it when I'm playing games and that sort of thing but otherwise I just hammer on all the time and it is definitely a backup if you have a behavior blocker because obviously they're not 100% this basically ensures that you know what's running on your system and it allows you to block anything which is unknown or look suspicious any issues that that now I can't actually open this ergo quarantine okay sometimes it is a little unresponsive just because it is doing things but overall it is a really well coded program especially for I believe one developer who developed this and it is definitely a good application and it's for it I mean there is a pro version just to get the settings match the things but for the most part the free version completely fine only eight items left now go ahead and do the recommended action and seven items so any quarantine obviously it's going to remove the file and I'll show you the quarantine files at the end of this but so far nothing has been able to execute click on father thank you very much and ransomware is bad hasn't been encrypted yet which is pretty crazy because well you know that might annoy some ransomware developers but I mean there's the honest truth to my opinion now we're down to five items here we go we've gone admin access one Oh looks like a orange drop box that looks legit and some of these icons are so bad it's kind of sad it's shocking yeah unsafe again come on boo the shield hundred percent okay Dushan then this one as well right three left and on the last one I'll show you the details and just gonna a little bit more detail about the program I've done some videos on a video shown in the past but this is sort of a new one the Kerswell I mean it is a pretty good application and I did want to show that it reserved good against well ransomware zero day threats because a lot of people probably haven't even heard of this program let alone used it and it is definitely boosting security so now this is the last one if we click on details where you can see it's suspicious unknown to the blank list but basically out of these algorithms it's detected as unsafe and we've got some details here hidden fall hidden extension false eyes digital signature valid the hash and all that sort of stuff behind the details then we just got this scale here unsafe this file should be blocked or quarantined there you go it's unknown to the blacklist scam which is quite suspicious so there you go like quarantine there you have it plays German when are complete so I'll conclude this video anyway if I just show you all settings yes we are on the free version we can go ahead to quarantine and here's the list of all the paths process and the name basically and all the different times and well we can go ahead and clear the quarantine deletes everything and obviously if you pay you can edit all these settings I have mine set to paranoid and let's see web apps what scope protection to toggle on and off with the web apps and there's a good selection there then you can have custom folders you can edit the whitelist stuff and that all that good so that'll basically conclude this video saying very much for watching
